I cannot believe how fast time is flying by! I cannot believe that Jacob is leaving in 9 days! I just cannot believe that my twins will both be gone! It will feel and be so empty with both of them, plus ALL THEIR FRIENDS not here anymore..WOW! I think I might become a complete mess!
My plan is to spend more quality time with my younger 3. The big news for the season is that Stetson and Hudson are NOT playing football this year. I know, I know, It’s crazy.. Starting quaterbacks and awesome tackling but alas, WE need a break. Chad and a number of coaches are not dealing quite as well with it, but I know it is best. There is always next year and when it is time for a break, you take it!!
Jordan has experienced the hottest day ever on record in Seattle. He says he takes 3 cold showers a day and no body has air conditioning. Jacob Is kinda freaking out because he just found out that the humidity is very high in Prague and he thought he would be comfortably freezing year round but the summers are HOT!
Our first week of school was good. I love having a routine. I love that I it MAKES me, make my kids do their reading and chores and stuff… On to the next week!

Well Our 2 youngest are back in school and just 2 weeks until Jake leaves for the MTC. Time is FLYING by. I’m not thrilled to have Stetson starting Jr. High either. Lots of emotions going on here!! Just hope we can all survive the next couple of weeks.
The last few weeks we have had a lot of fun. We attended the zoo, Cowabunga as well as an awesome trip to YELLOWSTONE with my sister and nieces.. pictures, pictures, pictures, and
FYI Jacob’s farewell is aug. 9th at 10:45
at the church on 15000 S. and about 2400 W.
We would love to have one and all and of course
Food and visiting at our house after the meeting!!!!

Last week we had to adjust back to getting up early. The 3 little and/or big boys had basketball camp at the highschool (RIVERTON HIGHSCHOOL that is) every morning at 8:00. They had a blast. The 2 little boys had to miss 2 days of it because they had cub scout camp/ which was also awesome.
We also had Stetson’s all star baseball games every night last week and they did awesome. They played all the way to the second to last game which I think makes them 3rd or 4th in state. But that is now over and we are on to the next thing.. whatever that might be…. This week has been really low Key. We had lots of fun with cousins for a barbeque for Marne (my sister) and my dad’s Birthday on Sunday. Chad and Stetson have been on a scout backbacking trip since Tuesday and they won’t be home until Saturday night. So we have had lots of playing with friends and cousins swimming, video games, eating out, and other fun summer stuff. I even got a little sewing in! One more week and the 2 little boys go back to school and about 3 weeks until Jacob leaves. Jordan has now been gone 6 months and is ¼ of the way through his mission……

Look what I found in the back yard on the patio by the pool!

This week we had many fun nights again at the ball park! Stetson’s ALL STAR team is now in the “state playoffs”. We enjoyed the annual Parade as well as the annual West Jordan Stampede Rodeo which Chad’s store, Ken Garff West Valley Chrysler Jeep Dogde, sponsers. We all had fun with friends and family…We also enjoyed the carnival, where Hud and Stock were actually shaking while stopped at the top of the Ferris wheel, (Chad wouldn’t even ride) and they LOVED the “scrambled eggs” (scrambler). We enjoyed listening to and watching NIEL DIAMOND sing and dance. and of course we enjoyed, the Fireworks! The show was awesome as always… We had a perfect parking spot and when it was time, It was the perfect spot for laying in the back of the truck, right under the fireworks! Perfect! The 4th of July is awesome. As we lay under the big beautiful lights in the sky, I couldn’t help but wonder where all my big kids were and what they were doing and thinking. I miss the days when I didn’t have to wonder…..

For Fathers Day, the kids had fun painting and coloring on the windows of the truck . Of course it rained and washed most of it away…

Last Tuesday night we went out to dinner at the Garden House in the Joseph Smith Memorial building. It was Grandpa Rigby’s 70th birthday party dinner. I left a few hours earlier so that I could take the little boys for a walk through Temple square. I grew up on the East Bench of the city and took for granted that Temple Square was so close and that we went there now and then. My little boys don’t remember being there unless it was Christmas so we enjoyed walking through the visitors center and especially the huge statue of Christ with all the heavens and stars around. I don’t ever remember seeing SOOO many Sister Missionaries EVERYWHERE. I thought it was neat to see that under their nametags they had flags of the different countries they were from. It was fun to talk to them and find out where they were from. I was happy to see so many investigators visiting with the Sisters.

My heart is broken today… The loss of a loved one, especially a child has to be the most painful and excruciating experience of this life.. Everywhere I look these days there seems so to be so much pain going on. The trick it seems, is to see the beauty around us and to be thankful for all we have each been blessed with. And to not take for granted, those in our lives that love us and are ours.
My dear friend lost her sweet granddaughter to a horrible brain tumor this morning. I feel their pain so much….

Well we just ended our first week of summer which really didn’t seem like summer since I've still benn running the kids around, well mostly Stetson, to the High school for half day basketball camp and then evening, baseball practices or games. His all star team has lost the 2 pre tournament games so far and we have one more tonight so we’ll see, not to promising for the real tournaments’… A friend and I took the kids to see “Imaging That” which I don’t recommend, however, the little girl in it is DARLING. Stockton had a great day with his friend Scott at Classic Skating and then he went to scouts with him and came home SOOO excited to have been able to go to scouts and pass off a few badges. He can’t wait to be able to go to scouts for real, just a couple more months.

So I have a son after my own heart. He made a quilt in math class and it looked so neat. Jessica tried a quilting class with me but she said that it just stressed her out, so maybe Hudson will be my quilting buddy.

Since it is Father’s day tomorrow I’d thought I’d share I little tidbit of Jordan’s letter to his dad that I thought was so cool, and post some pics. that he just sent home.

Well happy fathers day old man! thanks for all the stuff that you've done for me. you really do care about your family and they are your main focus and its really easy to see. Mom says one of the greatest things she loves about you is when you come home you don't go sit on the couch and watch tv and pop open a (ROOT) beer, but you whistle for the littles and say Hi to them and then hang with them the rest of the night and I think that's way kool. I hope i can be like that too. Jason said himself that "good luck tryin to be the dad that your dad is, cause you're never gonna measure up to it" haha Ithink he's right tho. thanks for everything you do you really are a stud. Happy Fathers Day and I'lll leave you with my testimony. I know the church is true, I know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the world. This is the Lords work and we will all be in Heaven as a family one day! Love you old man. Keep workin out eh? Even if you do just a little you'll still be in better shape than me cause I've pretty much lost it all haha aight peace pops! I love you dad, even if you are an old man haha keep workin hard, Did i mention your the best dad I could have ever asked for ! ha keep it real I'll talk to ya a little later.
Well I'm learnin and growin so much its insane in the membrane. Lookin back now like I've come so far but I've still got a ton more to go to become an effective servant in the Lords hands. I really don't know what else to say. oh yeah!!! I got a great story now, ok so a member just called us today and she wants us to go perform an exorcism on her neighbor who we tried to teach but ended up getting in a four hour bash with. haha umm I'm kinda excited but nervous too. I am a proud, proud momma. I can’t help it. Although some days you look at something one of your kids did and you think that you must be the worst mother in the world and you would just rather crawl in a whole then show your face! Where did they learn to do certain things and how did they ever think that it would be ok to do this or that? You know you taught them better… Well then you have days like I did today at the awards assembly for Stetson and he received the “Hope Of America” award. The following video speaks for itself. He does have such a good heart and I am so happy that he is making the choices he is. I just hope it all continues.. (P.S. Oh yeh! He made the All Stars team too!)

Wow, just when I thought we were done with Sports for a few weeks at least, Hudson gets into the final playoffs in basketball and plays Monday night for the Championship! AND THEN< We get phones calls to inform us that both Hudson and Stetson have been voted, invited, asked for, or whatever to tryout for the ALLSTAR teams. Stetson’s excited but Hudson just groaned, I think he is just DONE but we’ll wish them good luck..ONE MORE WEEK OF SCHOOL!!!

6/1/09 This photo basically sums up Jacob’s life right now. He does work a lot but when he isn’t, it’s always a party from boating, swimming, dancing, movies, MUD FOOTBALL GAMES, Horse rides, four wheeling, or just hanging out…. Oh yea, and he can’t miss Jay Leno or Colbert report( or whatever its called) He’ll tell ya that he’s “LIVIN THE LIFE”

As we come to the end of so many things, from school, baseball season and basketball leagues, I wonder what this new thing will bring called SUMMER! Besides getting Jacob ready and off, (We have 2 ½ months left) a few basketball and scout camps, a trip to Yellowstone, and maybe a Lake Powell trip, I hope that we can spend a lot of time just relaxing and enjoying each other. Although FOR SOME REASON, I can’t see that happening.

Jake is hoping to be able to go up to Seattle and spending a few days with Jord doing a little tracting and what not. We’re just waiting to here what Jordan’s MP has to say about it. Here is a little tidbit from Jordan’s last letter..

Eh roller coaster, I love my mission and there is so many great and amazing things about it.......but it is seriously the hardest thing ever!! everyday is just a battle, and the second you thing you’ve got it figured out, the Lord throws you a curve ball and humbles you and makes you learn a new thing. It’s great cause you learn so much from them but its so flippin hard sometimes.
Anyway, other than that, a few peeps we have been workin with have been given a little bit of anti Morman material and whatnot so we've been tryin to sort that out and help address their concerns so yeah. It's always hard, Satan works so hard against these people I don't see how we baptize anybody at all....besides the fact that It's true, but anyway. So yeah, a lot of anti we're workin with.
Umm being District Leader is a big job, I kinda wish I was just a regular junior companion:( having to prepare district meetings and makin calls everynight and worryin about everything and everybody is so overwhelming with everything else I'm tryin to do but whatevs.

I am so looking forward to this weekend and the fact that I have NOTHING to do! Oh don’t worry, if you know me at all, you know that I will definitely find something to keep myself busy. Like clean, go through closets, , organize myself and my life and PULLING WEEDS! AND, I’m including my 3 little boys in all these activities. Although they have been entirely over involved in sports, to the point of much whining and even some tears on more than one occasion, and we are all so happy that just for the next 5 days there will be NO GAMES OR PRACTICES!!!! We have had AT LEAST 10 games a week, for the past 2 months. And that doesn’t even count all the practices they’ve had to go to. So although I know that we are all in need of some rest and relaxation, For me, the work must be done, or at least partly, first…. And since my Husband has once again flown the coop, off to find a BEAR to stuff, That leaves it up to us to get this yard in shape, so digging and pulling is what we will be doing…..

Happy Mothers Day! I had a GREAT Mothers Day! I got to talk to my SO DANG CUTE missionary Jordan! I felt really bad for my family that came over because they had to wait for dinner while we all took turns talking to him. It was so good to talk to him and he sounded really good! When the phone rang later at night, Jake jokingly said, “It’s Jordan” and then looked at the caller ID and saw that it said LDS MISSION and he really thought it was our ward missionaries who had also been over visiting, But actually it WAS Jordan again. We ended out talking for hours. Jake even called their neighbor and friend of 10 years, Trevor to come over so he could talk. Jordan probably broke the rules talking so long and so much but oh well. He has tried so hard to be soooo obedient that I’m sure we r good. HE’S DISTRICT LEADER! Which we are so proud of, especially after only being out for 3 1/2 months. He mentioned that he was physically chased down and kicked off of someone’s property but I wasn’t supposed to here about that.
I got a lot of cute and thoughtful gifts from my family whom I am very thankful for. Flowers, plants, books, calendars, cards and A BIG FROG! I love it. Jordan even made me a bracelet and earrings that took him 2 “P” days to make. I’m wearing them in the photo! I am so thankful for my family!

Chad and I had a great trip to NEW YORK with our 20 group. I think however that Chad would be fine to not go back for another 10 years but I love visiting, New York, even if it is filthy and the fake cab driver tries to steal you luggage and kidnap you.
Although we didn’t do IT ALL, we were there 10 years ago did a lot of other things so this time we visited the TODAY show taping and got to see all the news anchors, walked at least a marathon, and that doesn’t’ even count walking through the Macy’s store, oh my gosh that thing is HUGE! We walked through Time Square like 4 times, saw a show called AVENUE Q,, we went over the BROOKLYN BRIDGE for NY Pizza, visited Little Italy and China Town for more Yummy food, We saw Jennifer Aniston and Justin Bateman filming their new move BASTER, We took the subway and a Carriage ride through Central park and ate at the BOAT HOUSE, Had massages and visited GROUND ZERO and all the firefighters memorials including the LITTLE CHURCH THAT STILL STANDS, which was very sobering…
We had a great time and thanks tour kids and grandma Penny and Grandpa, no worries about home.. ok I did worry but very little.

Hey Elders from the 801! things are goin pretty darn good out here in the armpit of seattle. General Conference was so sicky!!! we have an awesome investigator gettting baptized this saturday!!! im so stoked, this will be numero uno for me so its gonna be awesome. i got transfered to here in enumclaw, its like a small town farmer place if you will, but i like it, tractings not very effective out here but its still fun anyway. ive come to love my mission so much, it truly is a blessing to spend all day serving other people and our heavenly father, im amazed at how unselfish ive become haha this truly is where the lord needs us and its an awesome oppurtunity for all of us to learn and grow! well keep it real Elders. Baptize the hell out of them.....yeah literally.

Chad brought home a new Motorhome last week so off we went and we had a fun Easter weekend camping. About 60 people were there. Hudson and Stockton only got off the quads to eat and sleep. The kids went on a Easter candy hunt and got bags of candy. Stetson says he is ready to go again the first week we get out of school.
The highlight of the weekend is that Stockton lost 1 tooth on Saturday and a second one on Sunday…

My one child that has had THE BEST luck in the ways of emergency rooms and doctor visits had a little run in. Jake rolled his ankle pretty good at the gym playing basketball this week. VERY swollen and now bruised but not broken. They say he’ll need physical therapy, what a pain, and hopefully no surgery. They can’t really tell the extent of the damage because of the swelling, hopefully no torn ligaments... The kinda funny part happened after just returning from the doctor's office. A bunch of girls were over and all standing in the kitchen when he decided it was time to go down the stairs. He'd only been on crutches for a total of 3 1/2 minuets but thought he had it mastered. Anyway, suddenly we here boom, bang, thump, bonck and wack and then silence.... He was fine. My wall has a nice mark on it but oh well...

Ok so this is like 6 months late but better late than never I always say! This is Chad’s picture that his Grandma Anderson Painted. Sorry so late in the displaying Jamie. I forget, is there something else you wanted us to do with these pictures? So my blog may turn into a family blog/mission blog but just as an update, Jordan has been transferred to a small town called Maple Valley which is in Enumclaw. He says that he really likes it there and that it is where the active volcano Mt. Rainer is. He was nice enough to let me know that they say if it erupts, everyone will die within 6 seconds. He really likes his companion who is going home in 5 weeks. Jake is learning his new language in I’m sure record time. He has books and CD’s and the internet. I believe he may be teaching the lessons in the MTC. He is SO excieted! I’m not sure he can wait 4 1/2 months. Hudson has been doing the math to figure when he will be able to go on a mission..

Well, not sure yet how to feel but I don't have to worry for a few more months..He is WAY excited and already trying to learn the language and just ordered a czech Book of Mormon. This will be way different than Jordan's. We can send letters and packages and he gets everything within the week where as I have no clue now. I guess he won't be getting lots of letters and packages...All I know is it seems to be a safe place. I always feared that he would be called to the boarders of a war zone because he seams to need a little excitement, Well, they say that Prague is known for having the least religion in the world?? Jordan's mission is the same but city, so I guess they both have their work cut out for them...I am just so proud of them that they are so willing to serve for 2 YEARS!!!!!AUGH..

We had the awesome opportunity to feed the missionary's this last week and we had a little home made cafe rio. Jacob invited some friends and it was a good time. What a table full of cute boys. The missionaries in our area get fed by the members 6 times a week where as my big boy only gets fed twice a week:(.

I'm proud to say that Jordan won the Missionary record of eating the most japanerow peppers (7) followed by a half gallon of ice cream. The little lady gave us a call to let us know and this scary picture with the beads of sweat is proof of the pain of the glory!

This is sad Jordan. His companion had called home and talked to his mom for 20 minuets about school since he is getting ready to come home and Jordan was a little upset that he couldn't do the same

And here is just to let you know that he is still the same old Jord! He is doing much better and says he is no longer homesick, I'm not sure if I should be 100% happy about that. But I really am and he has a baptism schedualed for the 21st that he is very excited about.

I can't really explain this one!? They must really have the SPIRITS with them!

Here is a picture of my son in who's in COLLEGE at the HIGH SCHOOL dance! It was girls choice and I'm sure he had a lot of reminiscing moments. He had fun and looked oh so cute!
It was SEP week and we had 2 PERFECT report cards. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. And in the other ones defense, the teacher does not know how to grade a report card! I personally don't think you put a grade on a report card from testing on 1 paper! especially when he got the answers right but just didn't know he was supposed to show his work and he's only in first grade! DUH! She ruined our perfect score. But what do I know! ( i really don't care, but it would have been nice for his self esteem if she would have taken other critiria into her puttiing grades on the report card.....What can I say, He's my baby:(

Such good weather this weekend. The kids had a blast just being outside so much. They dug snow caves in what was left of the snow.( I think WILD cats live in them) Here are some pictures of them with their weapons ready to protect them selves and or fight off the WILD intruders.
Well I got My letter from my little big man. He seems to be doing well and settling into the missionary life. He knows he wants to serve the Lord and others and wants to do his best at Teaching others what he feels so strongly about! He does not however like the weather too much up there...

Stetson was in the 0pera at their medieval feast on Thursday and he did a great performance. (4 down, 2 to go) It’s always fun to watch the kids and eat like awe are in the medieval times.

Here are also some photos of Jordan at the MTC, He seemed to have had a blast there, after the first few days of severe homesickness of course. Anyway we got lots of pictures and videos’ as well as cassette tapes yesterday that made our day. Hopefully he will get out there and love seattle and the people too, I know he loves to teach, so I pray that someone will listen to him.

On Sunday at Grandma Penny’s, everyone was supposed to make valentines for Jordan. I realized later that none of my family made them while we were there so I got out all my Valentine stuff for my little boys to make them for him. Timing was perfect cuz Jake and all his friends came in just in time to decorate cookies and make valentines for him. Some of them really got into. Such a cute bunch of boys. I just hope getting so many Valentines from home and the fact that I’m sending all the pictures I took, doesn’t make him too homesick. Last letter we got was that he is back to the old homesick stage. I’m thinking I might have to hop on a bus and go get him and bring him home, I’m pretty sure he’d be here for about 5 minuets and he would be hitch hiking his way back up. His p-days r on Monday’s so HE BETTER BE BACK TO LOVING IT!

We had a great weekend in Park City. Chad and I got to go up on Friday night alone and then we came down Saturday morning for the boys basketball games and took the little boys back up with us for Saturday night. The kids thought the room was awesome and loved that we had our own hot tub and fireplace on our balcony. They had a ton of fun on the deck and Chad and I had the Massages of our lives. SOOO relaxing and GOOD!

So Jordy left for Seattle this morning and we got to talk to him on the phone from the airport. He had a lot of social questions for Jacob mostly, but is so cute to always tell the little boys to be good for mom, be nice to each other, get your homework done, ect… He’s doing really well and so excited to be getting out into the field and share what he feels so strongly about. He says it’s kinda been like a high school reunion cuz he knows so many people at the mtc and ran into so many old draper friends from Alta. We went to the Draper Temple today with the kids and it was so neat. I loved it. I hope my kids could feel what I felt. We are so lucky to have so many temples so close. We got our letter from Jordan and he is doing great. He says he is having the best time of his life.. kinda…. That comes 2 weeks after him saying that it was the hardest thing he’s ever done. He has had someone on the phone that has really wanted to be baptized. He was really excited last week but it seems that he has a lifestyle situation, he is a homosexual… oh well, maybe the next guy…

Chad’s back went out again this week so he has been in quite a bit of pain and as Stock says, he walks silly! I think it’s getting a little bit better.
I have a new bed partner, Stockton! He has taken up having nightmares lately so I decided he could just sleep with me! Yea!

Wednsday I think I actually found out what it truly means to be a mother as I felt my heart being ripped from my body! I have had many experiences over my lifetime that I thought were excruciating as a mother, ranging from staying up all night with a sick baby, to losing a child In the mall to later finding them happily playing with something they’d discovered, Watching them leave for their first day of school as well and their first dance, I’ve watched them miss that last shot at the buzzer that would have won the game, but instead lost it, waiting up WAY past curfew wondering if your child is dead or alive, trying to help heal a broken heart, broken bones and stitches, waiting in emergency rooms for info on a child’s pneumonia or an emergency appendectomy, having a baby on life support for weeks with no change everyday, actually losing a few babies, A daughter in the hospital all day Christmas eve and Christmas day with Pancreatic disease and not understanding what that entails, Following an ambulance with my son inside with a head injury after being told that he had a fractured skull and bleeding on his brain and could go into seizures and that would lead to brain damage at any time. …
I’ve done all these that we as mothers do but until you watch your child walk away into the big world and the unknown, with tears streaming down his cheeks, knowing that you won’t be able to see that face, touch those hands or hear his laughter for 2 years was almost unbearable. I was totally prepared for the MTC and it happened just like I had been told and I felt it was all handled just as it should be but I did not expect for 1 second for the guy who claimed over and over that he “Couldn’t wait to get out of here and start serving” to be SOOO homesick before he even left.
I know that with his charismatic personality, and love for others and desire to serve that he will be an awesome missionary. I’m also sure that he will forget all about us very soon but wow, that was hard.

Today was Jordan's farewell. A day that I have truly been dreading for months, but after the week I just had, dealing with the death and funeral, i think I handled it pretty good. He did an awesome job on his talk and the church was overflowing at an all time high. As far as I know they haven't ever opened the Chapel up into the gym, and it was over flowing into the halls, which then overflowed into my house. It was crowded but we we had plenty of food and all in all it was a nice day until Jordan split his head open on the basketball stand and had to go get stitches on his forehead.

I want to thank everyone who came and for supporting Jordan and all the help and support. Couldn't have done it without you. This week has been such a big reminder to me how important good family and friends are. I Love you all!!

One last little ditty. This morning as we sat and ate breakfast, Suddenly Stockton stopped and said, oh my gosh, I think I'm getting baptized today,. In actuality, he was just remembering that he had his baptism preview in the afternoon which we knew nothing about so we had a good laugh..

Wow, what a hard week this is turning out to be. We lost our brother Yesterday and although we know that he is at peace and actually having a blast reuniting with friends and family and running and singing in total health, It's almost unbearably hard for those left behind, and for others to watch and imagine what they must be going through and how hard the road ahead might be. Jim was so loving and interested in everyone and wanted to enjoy life in anyway possible. He was always busy with school administration and his lawn mowing business but seemed to always be up for a good time and i think always saw the best in all people and things. He loved his family and was a great father and husband and had a warm loving way about him and everyone enjoyed being around him.
The funeral is on Saturday which so happens to be my birthday. No matter though. my grandma's funeral was on my birthday about 30 years ago and since I really hate my Birthday anyway these days, it's just as well.

On anther note, I'm not really sure if it's a good one or not the closer it gets, jk, Jordan's farewell is on the following day at 10:50. He would love any and all to come and/or come over to the house to visit eat. All are welcome.

I started blogging as a way of journaling and keeping in touch with friends and family. I haven't posted much journaling lately however because with soooo much on my mind and in my heart it is hard to put it into words. We seem to be having a lot going on in our lives right now and although I know my children enjoyed the holidays, i just couldn't ever seem to get into the Christmas spirit. The snow did help, but usually I'm the most Merry person I know, and this year I seemed to really relate to little Cindy Lou Hoo on the Grinch as she sang,"WHERE R U CHRISTMAS, WHY CAN'T I FIND U? WHY HAVE YOU GONE AWAY? WHERE IS THE LAUGHTER, U USED TO BRING ME, WHY CAN'T I HEAR THE MUSIC PLAY? ..MY WORLD IS CHANGING, I'M REARRANGING, DOES THAT MEAN CHRISTMAS CHANGES TOO? " OK ENOUGH. ANYWAY, With our family growing up and experiencing new and different things, I know I should be excited but life just happens WAY TOO FAST! If you want to know the truth, I'd just rather go back about 5 years while everyone is home and together more.

I've been kinda under the weather lately and after some blood tests, a Cat Scan and an MRI, with much relief, so far so good. The next step is some nerve conductive study, But I am feeling better that I have over the last month.

Anyway, we did have a good Christmas and it was great as always to be with friends and family. We do have so much to be Thankful for, but also a lot of heart ache. My sweet sister's husband is in a care center fighting a mean and quite debilitating brain tumor. It has broken our hearts to watch their little family endure so much pain this last year. My sister whom I have watched struggle with her own health over the years has been absolutely incredible through this ordeal. She has shown him so much love and taken such good care of Jim these last few months and I know that she will be blessed for it and watched over because of it. My mom and dad have also spent endless hours sitting with Jim and supporting everyone and I've been so impressed with others, neighbors, friends, and family, including Jacob and Jordan, who have taken their time show there love and sit with him so he doesn't have to be alone. Our Prayers continue through this New Year for those who are less fortunate and of course Peace on Earth. Happy New Year Everyone!! (sorry so long)

I have soooo many things I want to blog about but i seem to have no time but thought I would take a second to play the "What TV shows do you watch game" so everyone will know just how pathetic I really am. I really like tv! Biggest Loser, The Lost(can't wait for the new season), 24 (can't wait for new season), Desperate Housewives, I loved October Road but I don't know if it's coming back, and this is where it gets really pathetic, I DVR lots of daytime TV and watch it way into the night while I'm waiting for my kids to come home. I'm like 2-3 months behind on Days of our lives but I could prob. tell you what's going on on most daytime tv shows since you only have to watch once in a while to catch up. I check to see who is on Oprah, whom I use to love but not so much now, or The View, Regis and Kelly, Ellen ect., if it looks good, i'll skim through it. Last night after Biggest Loser I even watched MOMMA"S BOY! And as depressing as it is, every night I have to watch the News..so don't judge me too harshly. I REALLY DO have a life!!

THANKSGIVING IN VEGAS

Hudson had a football tournament in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving weekend so we attached the luggage box and packed up the Suburban As we embarked on a much to long drive to Vegas.( I HATE road trips). I opted to sit in the back in a valiant effort to stop any fighting and it actually worked! No fighting the whole way down!!! Cousin Ali had soccer tournaments so the whole famdamly headed down as well. The kids had a lot of fun with their cousins and we all enjoyed a yummy buffet Thanksgiving dinner. We did the usual M&M and coke store visits, the Manhattan roller coaster, as well and Grandma Penny's favorite, FREEMONT STREET. Lots of shopping and Chads favorite thing ever to do in Vegas which is the Vegas shows. He took all his boys to Lance Burton's magic show which they all loved and Stockton almost wet his pants from laughing so hard. He wanted to stay longer and attend more shows but the big boys were ready to get back to their lives so we packed up again and this time I sat in front and I'm happy to report, still no fighting..( Lucky Jessica got to fly home which is the only way I want to do it from now on). As for the football games.. Major losses. Those cute little 8-9 year olds were put up against really good teams that were 11 but oh well, We're on to Basketball!

Sunday, Stetson passed the sacrament for the first time, and as I sat there as his father ordained him with his two big brothers standing in the circle as he received the Aronic Priesthood, I couldn't help but feeling so much peace and that all is good...Then on Tuesday morning, we took Jordan to the Temple. WOW! It all just seams so sureal..

Happy Birthday Stetson! He is 12 years old today. How fast the years go by. Stetson has so may good qualities and I am so proud of him. He has to be the most organized, independent, thoughtful, smart, Driven, kid out there. His room is organized and clean (with a little too much crap), I don't wake him up in the morning, he just gets up and gets ready, I never have to till him to get his reading or homework done, I don't have to tell hem to get ready for practice or anything because he is a walking schedule and I just got his first report card of the year and not only does he have straight 4's (A's) and E's, (excellent). His progress shows almost all 100% on everything he does. Most important though is that he wants to do what is right and being nice to everyone is very important to him...OK enough, but he really is awesome and we love him to death !!! I'll let you in on his negative side when it's not his birthday. JK

Stetson won his game on Saturday so he plays in the final game Saturday against... of course..

BINGHAM! !!UGH!! The only team they lost to this whole season.... Hudson lost, to, you guessed it, BINGHAM!! Oh my heck they bug me.. He still has the vegas tournament so he's not done yet.

As most everyone knows Jordan has been called to serve in the Seattle Washington Mission. He will depart for the MTC on January 21st and although I didn't think it would sink in that he is truly leaving until a few weeks before he actually leaves, I have been VERY emotional lately and I miss him already. He pretty much had his heart set on going out of the country and/or at least learning a new language, but you would never know it as he is excited and knows this is where the Lord wants him and is where he is supposed to go. (Chad said the other night that it's definitely a blessing for us because we can only imagine what a basket case the both of us would be, especially me, if he was going any farther but don't tell him I said so..) We are so excited for him and so proud of him..

As our last activity while the kids were off track, we went to the living planet aquarium. We had fun, but we are a little spoiled with aquariums and didn't think it was the best but we all still enjoyed...

so I am writing this sunday morning while the whole family is still sleeping. Not that it is extra early, just that we have decided to once again observe FAST Sunday and my entire family finds that if you sleep until right before church starts, which is 1:00 in the afternoon,it way easier to fast, since your sleeping. But I am certainly not complaining, I am very proud of all of them, I told them it was their choice, but that Heavenly Father has asked us to do this but they could decide. After the last few months I have added that since they have chosen this, my one rule is they can't whine to me that they are hungry one more time! I know I'm mean but nothing like Stockton whom I've told doesn't need to because he's only 7. He likes to rub it in that he s the only one that can eat.....We are all getting much better at it though..
Congratulations to my niece Nicole. She is the 1st attendent for Homecoming queen at Snow College and now has the other half of her tuitiion paid for!! Awsome, Congrats!!!
The highlight of our week was the opportunity for our family to be involved in the community project sponsored by Ken Garff West valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Chrysler Corp. and Kaboom. You may have seen it on the news but there were hundreds of volunteers which met at the empty park in Kearns at 8:30 A.M. and worked their rears off until 2:30 when the project was completed. People were mixing cement, laying sod, building playground equipment, hauling sawdust, building dugouts and benches, restoring old bleachers ect. Children from the school next door came over and painted the wall and colored thank yous to Ken Garff West Valley and Kaboom. Even chief from the Blaze showed up for some support. Although my little kids and I got there later in the afternoon and therefore we were not a lot of help, Jacob, Jordan, Chad and his dad Craig were there bright and early with hundreds of others giving it there all and it was so awesome to see so many volunteers working hard together. What a great lesson to my kids about service and helping others.
Both Hudon and Stetson's teams won their games, again...And the wait down continues for Jordan's mission papers to arrive so we will know when and where he will be serving for the next two years!!

Happy Birthday MOM last Tuesday! She is now 78 Years old. She has been really busy lately taking care of my 87 year old dad who fell from a 12 foot ladder while picking peaches(HELLO?) and also helping out a lot with my brother in law Jim who has had a few hospital stays lately in relation to his brain tumor. We took a drive after church today up American Fork canyon and I am always amazed and reminded of the peace and tranquility that is so close in these beautiful surrounding mountains. How lucky we are to live here where we can zip up into such beautiful surroundings in such a short amount of time. With the beginning signs of the new season and the crisp cool air I was thinking about how quickly time passes. Days pass, children grow up, we face challenges and have excitements as well and disappointments. Life quickly goes on one way or another, season by season and how thankful I am for my family and good friends and all I have been blessed with. (We've been watching some home videos of when the kids were younger so I'm a Little melancholy.)
Anyway, we saw a deer eating and the video isn't very clear and it's side ways but I tried...

Also , I finished my block of the month quilt just in time for class!
Oh Yea and HUDSON'S TEAM BEET Bingham ! But on a very sad note, Stetson's team had their first loss against stupid Bingham....

This last weekend Chad took the little boys hunting/camping. Needless to say they had a blast. Chad says that Stockton can call an elk with his mouth and does it all day long! Thank heavens I haven't heard him since they came home. They saw lots of wild life and Chad should prob. get a medal because I doubt the hunting was very productive but they loved it! Jake and Jordan had their first day of collage today and when I asked them how school was all I got was, " ok, but no hot girls in any of my classes"....

The boys were so sad we had to leave early and hurry home for football and not happy that they were motion sick and car sick by the time we got there but they love football. This last week we had a lot of fun with a visit from my sister and her boys Kristian and Paal. We had fun swimming, playing video games, movies and hanging out with grandpa and grandma and all the cousins... We went up to Park City and did the Alpine slide and Coaster. We all agreed that the coaster was the funnest and that we'll try the zip line next time. We hope they come again soon...

Ok, so since this is the way of the world I guess I'll give this blog thing a try. I'll start with this summer which completely flew by. It started with Jake and Jordan going on trek and fishing at
strawberry and then we took Jake and Jord and a bunch of graduating friends to Lake Powell for a senior trip. Stockton took a few swim lessons and Stetson and Hudson did a basketball camp.
Stetson went to a football camp and also earned a lot of money pulling weeds and was able to buy himself a new skate board.We spent alot of time swimming and playing. It ended by returning at 1:00 AM from another trip to Powell with Family and friends the night before school started. Football also started the same day and Hud and Stetson have practice everyday from 6-8 so we are all pretty tired and stressed trying to get homework done and get to bed at a somewhat decent hour, and I'm getting really sick of hearing my own voice telling everyone to hurry so we're not late for this or that. But they say they are loving it!
